Postmortem examinations on the ten victims of Thursday’s tragic bus accident are complete and they will be transported to Suva soon.

But as reported earlier there is cause for delay.

The CWM Hospital mortuary is full and police say the transferring of the bodies will have to wait until there is space.

However as Fiji remains in shock over the ten deaths, the government probe into the crash is underway.

Assistance from the Australian Federal police is expected in the next few days as everyone tries to answer the question of why the horrible accident occurred and how such tragedies can be avoided in the future.

The national tragedy has even risen above political dispute, with Ousted Prime Minister Qarase welcoming the decision of the interim government to hold an inquiry.

Meanwhile, four passengers from the bus remain hospitalized in Suva being treated for burns.

The bus was traveling from Korovou to Nadi on Thursday night when it filled with smoke and people began jumping from the moving vehicle including the driver who said he could not stop the bus.

Without the driver, it rolled into a ditch and burst into flames.

There are reports, that the vehicle, which was on its way to a funeral  was carrying drums of kerosene.
