Two female Chinese nationals illegally staying in the country were taken into custody yesterday by Immigration officials.

The two were working at a bakery shop in Raiwaqa.

The two are among nine other Chinese nationals arrested last Thursday who are awaiting deportation.

Immigration Director Major Nemani Vuniwaqa says they had breached the terms of their visa and were involved in prostitution and other related activities.

The Department is finalizing their tickets.

Meanwhile the Ukrainian National who was arrested last Friday for overstaying in the country since 2005 was deported this morning.

So far this year, 18 illegal immigrants have been deported, while for last year alone there were 55 deportation cases recorded by the immigration department.
