Only one of the 14 political parties that attended talks with the interim Prime Minister last month, has made submissions on what future meetings should discuss.
Political Dialogue Forum interlocutors Robyn Nair and Sitiveni Halapua are urging political parties to come forward with their submissions as quickly as possible so the date of the next meeting can be finalised.
Out of the 16 registered political parties, 14 attended the political Dialogue Forum on the 27th of last month. And to date, Nair says they have received just one submission.
While there have been reports in the media that the next Forum will be held on the 5th of next month, Nair says this is not true.
The co-interlocutor says the date for the next meeting has not been finalised yet, adding the Interim Government will be responsible for setting the date.
Nair says he is positive they will receive all submissions.
Political parties were given 5 weeks from the date of the last meeting to hand in their submissions.
With just one submission in so far and 13 more to go, Nair says he does not want to rush the process.
He says he understands that complex issues need to be discussed thoroughly within each party’s internal structures before submissions can be made.
Nair says they have been approached by a number of political parties seeking advice for their submissions which is a positive sign.
